If the Sunflower August girls are sunshine mixed with a little hurricane shirt and I will buy this world were normal, I wouldn’t be able to loll about all day sobbing and intermittently working through this breakup, and my depression uniform of Hanes sweatpants would barely pass for sleazecore. Instead, I’d have to put on my stupid little ankle boots, get on the C train, show up at work, and not terrify my coworkers by wondering aloud whether I’ll ever really be loved. Sure, I wish I could hit the bars with 15 to 20 of my closest friends right now, but in exchange I’ll take the peace of being able to honor my feelings in whatever form they come (even if it means I log for a pitch meeting with puffy eyes and extreme bedhead).
